Marie Curie fellowships, popular music studies (University of Oslo)

The University of Oslo’s Department of Musicology invites expressions of interest for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Fellowships. The MSCA-IF initiative offers postdoctoral researchers a two-year project that amounts to approximately €200,000. The proposal and project are developed and carried out together with a mentor. Please familiarize yourself with the eligibility criteria.

In the first instance, potential applicants are welcome to contact one of two available mentors working broadly in popular music studies (Anne Danielsen; https://www.hf.uio.no/ritmo/english/people/management/anneda/index.html and Kyle Devine, https://www.hf.uio.no/imv/english/people/aca/tenured/kylerd/index.html). Please include a CV as well as a one-page sketch of your proposed project and a note on how that project relates to the research of your potential mentor. The deadline for this is 10 January 2019.

Next, the Department of Musicology will decide which candidates will be nominated for evaluation at the Faculty of Humanities. Candidates selected by the Faculty will be invited to the University of Oslo for a masterclass (25–26 April 2019) where they will familiarize themselves with the application templates, get a bunch of helpful tips and advice, hear success stories, and meet their mentor as well as research groups and support staff. All expenses will be covered. The decisions should be available in February.

Please be in touch with a potential mentor if you have any questions.
