Applications are invited for the confirmation path position of Lecturer in the Department of Music, Division of Humanities. The appointee will have expertise in popular music, in both practical keyboard tuition and academic papers related to popular music and world music. Administrative duties will be agreed upon in consultation with the Head of Department.

The successful applicant will also be supportive to colleagues and students across a whole range of the Department’s work, willing to participate in interdisciplinary activities in research and teaching, and a good contributor to the strategic and detailed planning of the Department’s work.

The Department of Music offers degrees specialising in music performance (contemporary popular music and western art music), composition, ethnomusicology and musicology, as well as postgraduate studies. Pacific, popular and world music are developing areas in the Department, and the successful applicant would support these activities in teaching and research. A completed PhD is required, as well as proven potential for distinguished scholarship and effective teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
