Funding for delegates from low-income countries

Here, ‘low-income countries’ is defined according to the UN list. Delegates from countries on that list may apply for funding from IASPM to cover conference costs. They should normally also meet the following criteria:

  • have been an IASPM member for a full year
  • have confirmation letter from university that no/limited funding for conference is available or not be attached to a university/similar organisation
  • convenor of the stream needs to support application
  • candidates for whom travel expenses are especially high should be given preference
  • travel and accommodation costs need to be kept to a minimum

Delegates from low-income countries who wish to make an application for funding should apply in writing to Violeta Mayer.

Funding for other delegates

The IASPM executive is able to provide financial assistance to conference delegates. Assistance may take the form of travel, accommodation or conference registration fee subsidies, or a combination of these measures.

Successful applicants will receive no more than the sum of $US 500 to attend the conference. Applications for assistance will be ranked by the executive according to the perceived greatest need and the ability to accommodate the greatest number of applicants within annual IASPM budgets.

IASPM members intending to apply for assistance should note the following:

  • Applicants must be financial members of IASPM for one year or more
  • Documented evidence must be provided (e.g. letter from Head of Department or Faculty) from the member’s institution stating that no funding is available

Delegates who wish to make an application for funding should complete this form and email it with accompanying documents to the Chair of IASPM.

Notice: any availability for funding for 2009 international IASPM conference has run out.
