If there are at least five members of the Association in a country or a supra-national region, they may – according to the statutes – form a branch (or a chapter as it is called in some countries). Currently IASPM is subdivided in these branches:

Australia/New Zealand |
| The branch currently has over 100 members. Our Australian members predominantly hail from New South Wales, although Queensland and Victoria are also well represented. The majority of our New Zealand members are from Wellington, Auckland and Dunedin. While networks are being established for monthly seminars, the main forum for members remains the annual conference. Members’ interests encompass a range of disciplines: cultural studies, ethnomusicology, sociology, media, music and film studies, with increasing interest from journalists and local musicians. |
